EDP Terms
of Use Agreement
Use of the Touchstone’s Extended Day Program (EDP) is available to all
current Touchstone students. Students are registered for EDP in advance
by their parents, or automatically whenever students are not picked-up
at the end of the school’s dismissal period (3:15 p.m.). By registering
for EDP either way, parents agree to accept the terms of use as
explained here, or as revised and communicated by the School. Parents
are responsible for understanding the following policies and should
contact the EDP Director for any further information needed.
Registration
Policies
Contract registration
- EDP contracts must
be submitted and pre-paid before the contract term begins.
- No refund is offered for contracted
days not used, except as noted below under Refunds.
- Individual contracted dates cannot be
switched for other dates.
Advance Registration
- The "daily rate"
applies for registrations received more than 2 school days in advance
of the date of service.
- No refund is offered when a student
does not attend EDP on a day when registered for EDP.
Drop-in Registration
- A higher fee
applies to registrations received within 2 school days of the date of
service (drop-in).
- No refund is offered when a student
does not attend on a day registered for EDP.
Same-day drop-in registrations
- All requests for
same-day EDP registrations MUST be communicated directly (in person or
on the phone) with the EDP Director.
- We are proud of our ability to assist
parents in need of emergency arrangements, and will do our best to
accommodate your request, given the staffing available.
Registration Changes
- Once received by
the EDP Director, non-contract registrations can be changed if the
request is received more than 2 days in advance of the date of service.
- For drop-in registrations and
same-day drop-in registrations, no changes can be accepted.
Refunds
- Refunds are not
available for unused days due to absence, except for extended student
illness of more than three days. Contact the EDP Director to address
specific situations.
- EDP is closed on snow days and
registration fees are refunded. Contract registration fees are refunded
on a pro-rated basis.
- EDP registrations are refunded in
the rare circumstances when the school decides to cancel the program
(during weather emergencies, for example).
Payment Policies
- EDP
contract charges are payable when you register, and
prepayment
is appreciated.
- Any balance on this account (from
additional charges or changes) is due at the end of the calendar month
to which the daily charges apply.
- Parents
are expected to make regular, monthly payments to these contracted EDP
accounts to keep them "current."
- EDP daily
account statements are mailed every two months and the
balances are due for payment within 30 days (i.e. by the end of the
third month)
- EDP account balance information is
available by contacting the school bookkeeper or the EDP director.
- All
EDP accounts must be paid in full by the last day of school.
Late Payment Policy
We will decline or suspend registrations for the
program whenever an EDP account balance is over 30 days due.
Late
Pick-Up Policies and Fees
Late pick-up from school dismissal
- A total of three
“grace” occurrences per year are allowed for picking up late from
dismissal and any fees normally incurred will be waived if students are
picked up before 3:30 p.m.
- Parents arriving late for dismissal
(after 3:15) will find their children automatically registered for EDP.
The driver must park and enter the building to sign-out students placed
in EDP.
- For late pick-ups after dismissal,
the grace period ends at 3:30. After 3:30 the drop-in registration fee
applies.
- Carpool drivers arriving late for
dismissal (after 3:15) will find that their riders have been
automatically registered for EDP. The driver must park and enter the
building to sign-out students placed in EDP.
- The account for the child of the
carpool driver arriving late will be the only account charged for the
above late fees.
Late pick-up from EDP / Late pick-up Fees
- EDP closes at 6:00
p.m., and all children should be signed out before that time.
- At 6:00, late pick-up fees begin to
accrue after three “grace” occurrences. From the forth late pick-up,
$25 will be charged for the first 30 minutes overdue and $25 for the
second 30 minutes overdue.
- Carpool drivers arriving late for
pick-up from EDP (after 6:00) should realize that the only EDP account
to incur a late fee would be their own child’s account.
Limitations of EDP Service
- EDP services may
be suspended at the discretion of the EDP director and head of school.
Parents will be notified and asked to meet with school staff to resolve
the problem, which may include:
- Non-payment
- Excessive late pick-up's
- Inappropriate student conduct
- EDP reserves the right to send a
student home early should his behavior:
- Create a safety risk for self or others
- Make it unduly difficult for EDP staff to
properly supervise all of the registrants.
- The school reserves the right to
withhold EDP services should the staff decide that attendance in the
program is not in the best interest of the student.
