Touchstone Community School Wins Youth Garden Grant Award

Touchstone Community School was selected as one of the 20 award winners from a pool of more than 3,000 inspiring applicants for the 2014 Youth Garden Award.

Winners were selected based on the demonstrated relationship between the garden program and education related to the environment, health and nutrition issues, character education, and entrepreneurship in the United States.

Touchstone’s Garden Program, led by David Cantler, Environmental Educator, will receive a $500 gift certificate to the Gardening with Kids online store. Each program will also receive a tool package from Ames, plant starts from Bonnie Plants, two (2) Growums Garden Kits, a raised bed from Rustic Cedar and a generous seed donation from High Mowing Seeds.
