Assistant teacher Seth J. Mansur, 26, of Grafton works calmly around a classroom of seventh- and eighth-grade students at Touchstone Community School, helping them analyze the nutritional data of food in their lunchboxes, meals purchased at fast-food restaurants, and items from the supermarket.

Few of his students are aware that Mr. Mansur, who is pursuing his master’s degree in education at Fitchburg State University, served for eight years in the Marine Corps Reserve, which included nine months of deployment in Iraq.
