Bookkeeper/Purchaser
We are seeking a bookkeeper/purchaser for a part-time position
for the current 2008-09 school year with the expectation that
the successful candidate will continue in the position in
subsequent years.
The bookkeeper/purchaser reports to the business manager, and is
responsible for supporting the financial operations of the
school. Primary responsibilities include processing payroll and
tax forms, reconciling bank statements, accounts payable and
accounts receivable processing, audit support, as well as
purchasing and receiving functions. Back-up office support,
including phone coverage and general administrative duties, are
also required. In addition to being a member of the
administrative staff team, he or she will be expected to attend
certain faculty/staff and other meetings, including occasional
evening/weekend meetings and events, as required.
The ideal candidate will be highly organized, analytical,
capable of working with a high degree of accuracy and attention
to detail, and capable of working effectively with a dedicated
team of faculty and staff. Confidentiality and the ability to
work with deadlines are essential. A degree in finance or
accounting with strong database, Quick Books, Windows-based
systems proficiency, and two-plus years of directly related
experience with an independent school or non-profit educational
institution required with audit experience preferred. Salary
